Jill Biden’s sense of style has been given a tough time on Twitter with fashion critics targeting the US First Lady’s outfit she wore at a Tennessee Pride festival last weekend.
She visited Nashville for the event to give a speech to the large crowd in attendance. But the floral dress she wore was aggressively scrutinised on social media after she posted pictures of herself meeting and engaging with the LGBTQ community, reports The Daily Express US.
She innocently captioned her post: “Happy Pride, Minneapolis, and Nashville! Today, we’re here to say that you belong. That you are beautiful. That you are loved. Joe and I will stand with you always.”
A short moment after, the post was swarmed by haters in the comment section who compared the dress to upholstery.

Despite the First Lady’s heartfelt message, viewers targeted her fashion with comments like: “Another set of drapes got the scissors,” noted one viewer, while another followed with: “Jill please stop wearing the curtains.”
Another said: “What are you wearing? Looks like it could be your bedspread?” to which another replied: “Yes. I agree with you. The pattern is too big for a couch or tablecloth. I believe it’s a bedspread.”
“Do you replace the curtain that you use for your dresses?” taunted a fourth.
This is not the first instance of Twitter users comparing the US First Lady’s attire to furnishings. Last year, one user announced their new hobby was to search the Internet for bedspreads and drapes to match Jill Biden’s dresses.
They taunted: “Find the sofa the dress was made from,” and then showed a picture of Jill Biden in one of her signature floral dresses.
Although other users were not quite as brutal this time around and thanked the Biden administration for its support of the LGBTQ community, with one noting: “Thank you, Dr. Biden, for supporting our community!” while another writing: “OMG… so thankful for this administration.”
After the Nashville visit, Jill Biden continued showing her support by attending a private political fundraiser for her husband Joe Biden’s re-election campaign that evening.
