Jim McIntyre leaves Cove Rangers after 6-1 defeat to Inverness

Cove Rangers have parted company with manager Jim McIntyre following their 6-1 defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Monday evening.

McIntyre leaves the club in eighth place in the Championship. The 50-year-old former Dundee and Ross County boss had joined the club in the summer as Paul Hartley’s successor but failed to put together consistent positive results.

The club confirmed the news on their official website, with chairman Keith Moorhouse saying that the call had been tough to make.

However, with the club still in a position where they could earn promotion, and able to recruit players in the January transfer window, the board felt the time was right to make a change.

Moorhouse said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim for his hard work and wish him all the best for the future.”

Cove Rangers will now begin a recruitment process to identify a new manager as quickly as possible.
