Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler didn’t want to blame injuries on the Heat’s loss to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.

Miami’s Cinderella run to the NBA Finals ended on Monday night with a 94-89 loss in Game 5. The Heat lost in five games after beating the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, and the Boston Celtics.

Butler was asked about his ankle and he gave full credit to the Nuggets for winning.

“Zero. My ankle’s fine. We just didn’t win, there’s no excuse. They beat us,” Butler said.

This is a super classy answer from Butler. Injuries or not, the Heat lost fair and square.

Butler had the chance to tie the game at 92 late in the fourth quarter but missed a three-pointer. The Nuggets then got the rebound and sank two more free throws to go up by five and ice the game with only a few seconds left.

Butler finished the game with 21 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
