Jio Phone 5G design revealed through live images

A Twitter user shared live images of the Jio Phone 5G, which reveal the smartphone’s front and back along with some key specs. Here, the Jio Phone 5G looks similar to other sub-Rs 10,000 phones with a plastic back and the camera module placed at the top centre. At the front, we see a waterdrop-style notch housing the selfie camera.

The leaked images also confirm the Jio Phone 5G will feature a 13MP primary rear camera. The tweet further adds that there will be a 2MP secondary sensor at the back and a 5MP front camera for selfies. There’s a Jio branding and 5G written on the rear panel of the phone further adding to the speculation that it is the Jio Phone 5G. There’s also one image with speed test results of the Jio 5G network and it shows download speeds of 470Mbps and upload speeds of 34Mbps.

When will Jio Phone 5G launch in India?

According to the tweet, the JioPhone 5G is expected to launch between Diwali and New Year, so there are still months to go until we see the rumoured device. As per the tipster, the phone will be powered by either a Unisoc 5G processor or the MediaTek Dimensity 700. Previously, the phone appeared on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 480+ chip. The Jio Phone 5G is also said to be priced under Rs 10,000, which would make it the most affordable 5G phone in India. 

Jio Phone 5G specifications rumoured so far

The latest leak on the JioPhone 5G differs somewhat in terms of specifications. According to past information, here’s what we know about the Jio Phone 5G. 

• The Jio Phone 5G is expected to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
• The smartphone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC paired with 4GB RAM and at least 32GB storage. It is also expected to come with a Syntiant NDP115 always-on AI processor.
• It could pack a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
• The camera specs are the same except that the front camera could be an 8MP sensor instead of a 5MP. 
• Connectivity options on the Jio Phone 5G could include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
• On the software front, the Jio Phone 5G will most likely run Android 12-based PragatiOS custom skin out of the box with GMS Services and Jio’s suite of apps.
