Biden on Monday afternoon shared an image of himself sitting on the White House residence balcony with Commander, his German shepherd.
‘Took some calls this morning with man’s best co-worker,’ tweeted Biden.
Biden appeared to be recovering quickly, four days after testing positive for Covid-19.
In an update on Monday, White House Physician Kevin O’Connor stated that Biden still has some ‘residual nasal congestion and minimal hoarseness’.
‘His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal,’ O’Connor wrote. ‘His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear.’
During a virtual meeting with semiconductors shortly after tweeting on Monday, Biden shared how he was feeling, and again mentioned Commander.
‘I’m feeling great. You know, I’ve had two full nights of sleep all the way through,’ Biden laughed.
‘Matter of fact, my dog had to wake me up this morning. My wife’s not here, and she usually takes him out in the morning while I’m upstairs working out. So I felt this nuzzle of my dog’s nose against my chest about five minutes to 7 o’clock.’
Biden admitted, ‘My voice is still raspy.’
‘I’ve had every morning,’ he said, breaking to cough.
‘Every afternoon, I mean, excuse me, every evening, I get a full blown series of tests, everything from the temperature, to oxygen… the oxygen in my blood, to my pulse, to I mean, just across the board. And so far, everything’s good. I mean, everything’s on the button.’
Biden, who is fully vaccinated and twice boosted, has been working in isolation. He experienced ‘very mild symptoms’ on Thursday and began taking Paxlovid, which he is continuing to take.
On Friday, he made an unplanned virtual appearance to speak about falling gas prices. His voice was deeper than usual, but he flashed a thumbs up to reporters.
