Since 2021, basketball legend John Stockton has been firmly entrenched in the anti-vaccine movement. But he has apparently decided to go after all of medicine, not just vaccines.
Appearing on a recent podcast with Dan Dickau, Stockton tried to make the case that using medicine of any kind to treat basketball player injuries is not good for us. He believes that medicine consists of “chemicals that we don’t need” and that it’s being forced on people to their detriment.
This isn’t the first time that Stockton has made outrageous and borderline offensive statements about medicine. Last year he claimed that the COVID-19 vaccine is responsible for the death of over 100 professional athletes and has appeared in anti-vaxx documentaries.
While some people are supporting Stockton for having the “bravery” to speak up on the topic, most of the replies to this particular clip are clapping back hard:
John Stockton credits his health as a big reason for his NBA success.
'Medicine is not good for us. It's chemicals that we don't need and yet we just keep forcing it on folks.'

“Modern medicine has helped countless people live longer healthier lives, but yeah let’s listen to medical advice from John Stockton,” one user replied.
“I’m sure I agree with John Stockton on a lot of things… but we couldn’t be farther apart here. Frustrating to see him rep the university like this,” wrote another.
“John really looks like a cult leader from a Netflix or Dateline documentary,” a third wrote.
Back in 2022 his alma mater Gonzaga suspended his college basketball season tickets for failing to comply with their mask mandate. Earlier this year he asserted that he will not be returning to Gonzaga basketball games in protest of the team’s vaccination mandate.
