Former Chelsea defender John Terry has hit out at Roy Keane on social media after appearing to refuse to participate in a picture with a fan at an American Football match. The Sky Sports pundit was spotted by TV cameras at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before he appeared to gesture towards a fan telling them he did not want to take a photo with them.
Ex-Manchester United ace Keane went viral over the weekend after he appeared to refuse to take a selfie with a fan at an NFL game in London. The former football turned pundit was in the stands to watch the Green Bay Packers take on the New York Giants.
He was spotted by cameras settling into his seat when a fan recognised the 45-year-old. He approached Keane asking for a photograph with the United legend, only to be denied a memory to treasure when Keane refused to take part and he was seen shaking his head and gesticulating towards the pitch.
That caused Terry, the former Chelsea captain and assistant manager of Aston Villa, to call out the Irishman in disgust on Twitter.
In a conversation with Sky Sports presenter Laura Woods, the 41-year-old said: “It takes 2 seconds to have a picture with the fans. I think this is poor !”
However, Woods then clarified that Keane may have agreed to take a photograph at the half-time interval when the game was not in-play and did not outright refuse to take the photograph.
Shortly after, Terry deleted his tweet and, at the time of writing, did not choose to re-post his thoughts, perhaps changing his mind after receiving the information from Woods.
