Singer Johnny Ruffo has praised his partner Tahnee Sims as the West Aussie hints at a possible wedding in their future.
The former X Factor star has spoken candidly about his ongoing health battle and the immense toll cancer had taken on him physically and mentally.
“I’m still doing chemotherapy and still battling along, just one foot in front of the other, one step at a time,” he told Yahoo.
“It is a challenge,” he admitted, before adding that he’s “so lucky” to have Sims by his side.
The 34-year-old acknowledges his partner’s own struggles.
“I feel like she’s battling as much as I am, but also she has to put up with me,” he quipped.
“Without her, it’d definitely be a lot harder.”
Ruffo hinted an engagement may be on the cards in the future.
“She’s definitely given me the hint about you know, getting engaged. [She says] ’Ooh, I like this ring, and I like that one’, So I think that might be on the cards maybe, I’m definitely getting the nudge-nudge.”
It’s been a long five years for the couple. It was Sims who noticed something was off with Ruffo back in 2017.
He was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and had a 7cm brain tumour removed.
In August, he revealed his cancer was now terminal.
The singer previously mentioned hopes of returning to Perth for Christmas.
