Join Michèle Lamy and Edward Bess on a Journey Through Life and Beauty

Even the most incredible experiences, like a lunch in Marrakech with the artist Christo, are made moreso by Lamy’s curious eye. “What is also a contradiction in this book is that usually in these travels we are already a tribe, but in these pictures I [also] count people that we would notice. Like when we were with Christo for lunch in Marrakech and found a group of women; there were people all around, people in the road, and in character everywhere,” says Lamy. “Edward made the book like an aria.” 

The idea of living like an aria carries. “In the soap opera that is life there were incredible people we encountered along the way both big and small, but the most inspiring thing we encountered along the way is Michèle. She is the aria. No matter what’s happening in the background I still found it the most interesting to see Michèle walking barefoot down the road,” says Bess. 

While the black-and-white tome is the only official product the two have collaborated on, you could say Bess’s new fragrance, Kiss the Sky, is an unofficial partnership. “My newest perfume was something I was working on and developed over my travels with Michèle and the reason I knew that this was the perfume was when a little Zip-lock bag of the glass bottle spilled and Michèle said, ‘Now this is fantastique!’”

“It’s a completion of all the scents that we like,” affirms Lamy. “I did this perfume, Lamyland, that is in Rick’s store one time, but now Edward made one that is even better.” Lamy is also a fan of Bess’s More Amore hair serum. “I’ve been using henna on my head since I was sixteen, and guess what, now I’m starting to use beauty products,” she says. “The More Amore is so good for the hair.” 

Bess is pleased with the stamp of approval from his mega muse. “Michèle is a beauty girl,” he says with a smirk. “She epitomizes everything I aspire to and hope for.”
