Jonita Gandhi is known for the songs she sings, but nothing about her personal life ever makes it’s way onto the internet. If she is dating someone or not is also a mystery. And when we ask her, she says she decidedly wants only her work to do all the talking.
“I prefer to keep my personal life private, but there are times here and there when the media shares about family events that I talk about on my social profiles. Aside from those, being in this profession can be consuming when there’s no boundary between personal and professional so I hope it stays this way where the two can remain separate,” she makes it clear.
We therefore shift the focus on her professional life. Her recent song, Current Laga Re from Cirkus, managed to create quite a buzz. But it isn’t just dance numbers that she has stuck to till date. She has sung soulful, peppy tracks such as Gilehriyaan for Dangal, Deva Deva for Brahmastra as well.
She says, “I love singing a variety of genres. Each one gives me a chance to explore different techniques and emotions, or play different characters with my voice. I find that really fun and it keeps things exciting by mixing it up too.”
While the past year ended on a high with Current Laga Re, Gandhi admits that there were some misses as well. Looking at 2023 with a hopeful gaze. “The year was full of ups and downs. Although some things may not have worked out the way I anticipated, there were unexpected surprises to balance it all out. I think the highlight of my year has been a newfound confidence in knowing what I want and don’t want, and prioritizing inner peace to help me be my best. This has really helped me with small professional wins throughout the year that I can look back on fondly,” the singer ends.
