AJ and Fury are expected to square off on December 3 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales with personal terms being agreed upon by both parties. According to Frank Warren, a final contract has been sent to Joshua’s team and they now await the signed paperwork.
Coming into the bout, Joshua and Garcia will go into their second successive camp after the Usyk loss on August 20. The legendary coach has previously expressed that he would rather Joshua takes ‘two or three more fights’ before jumping back into the deep end but understands the monetary value of the fight.
When asked what AJ has to do to be successful against Fury, Garcia told iD Boxing: “Fight very smart, be AJ, but I would say train a little bit harder just because you know you need that extra round, that extra two rounds, that extra three rounds that you lost at the end of Usyk’s fight. You know, just train a little bit harder because he’s got great skills, great power, great speed, I just think that extra push in the gym to go out there and not allow to get tired like he did in the three rounds.
Speaking to ESNews, he said: “He has a serious stamina problem. We know he would be very cautious of what happened before and, as you see, it was very cautious of him throwing punches and different things like that.
“So, the best man won that night. Joshua did exactly what we expected him to do and run out of gas.”
