JSX is expanding its scheduled by-the-seat private jet service to Nashville and adding flights to Westchester County Airport, north of New York City.

The Dallas-based company offers passengers the benefit of using private terminals, avoiding crowds, and security lines and saving time. You can check in up to 20 minutes before departure.

Unlike traditional private jet charter flights, memberships and jet cards, you don’t have to reserve the entire airplane.

Instead, you buy seats, which start under $200, although they can be over $1,000 one-way for longer flights.

You also fly on a published schedule, so unlike normal private jet flying, you don’t get to decide when you want to go.

Its first flights to Nashville start June 22, 2023, with nonstop flights to Westchester, Dallas Love Field and Destin, Florida, the latter being a seasonal route.

The Texas and New York flights are twice a day, while Florida will be Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a single service in each direction.

On the Nashville-Dallas and Nashville-Destin flights, JSX will be going head-to-head with Southwest Airlines.

Additionally, JSX is adding seasonal flights from Westchester County to Martha’s Vineyard and Portland, Maine.

Those flights will run between June and September.

The prices for the Nashville-Destin flights start at $189, while to Westchester County, fares start at $279 and Dallas is $289.

In a press release, JSX CEO Alex Wilcox says, “Nashville is a natural fit for the seamless, elevated experience JSX brings to air travel. For residents of the Music City and those headed there, our hop-on jet service is the perfect way to get out of the airport and into the action without undue stress this busy summer season and beyond.”

You won’t be traveling on a Gulfstream and Global Express like your favorite celebrities. JSX uses converted Embraer 135 and 145 regional jets with fewer seats and more legroom. It also offers free snacks, beverages, and checked luggage and is pet friendly.

It’s currently rolling out gratis Starlink’s high-speed WiFi across its fleet.

According to the announcement, JSX currently owns 77 of the 30-seat Embraer jets, of which 40 are now in service.

It is competing with a handful of other providers that are trying to create a new category between traditional private jet charter flights and scheduled airline service.

Vista Global’s XO has been expanding its flights between New York and South Florida. Set Jet offers a by-the-seat subscription membership in the Southwestern U.S., while start-up Aero is following a similar path and recently started flights from Dallas to Los Cabos and Aspen. Tradewind Aviation, which offers by-the-seat shuttle flights in the Northeastern U.S. and Caribbean, announced last month it is expanding to Florida. However, it hasn’t been revealed yet if it will offer shuttles in Florida or just its regular charter flight and jet card options.

Others who want to tap into the jet-sharing market are waiting in the wings. Miami-based Fleet Clubs and Zed Aerospace have also announced their intent to start similar services. However, both are still on the taxiway after multiple delays.
