But for the most part, it seems as if she landed on most people’s radar through her relationship with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
For context, she and Ye dated for about a month before breaking up in February.
Julia told the Evening Standard that she was introduced to the rapper through a mutual friend and that a “good amount” of chemistry had existed between them. But at the same time, she was “just going day by day and seeing where it went.”
“It was just like, he still wants to hang out with me today, let’s do it,” she continued. “And then real life set in and the lifestyle wasn’t sustainable. I couldn’t fly away once a week. And I tapped out at the first sign of a red flag.”
Julia elaborated, saying there were just certain “unresolved issues that [Ye] was dealing with” at that time in his life. “It just seems like he had a lot to work on, and I just don’t have time for it, or energy. I don’t have the bandwidth or emotional capacity for it. I’m proud of myself for that. Pre-Valentino Julia would have definitely stuck it out and been there for longer,” she added, referring to her son.
Although she didn’t get into the specific “issues” Ye had, at the time, he and Kim Kardashian were going through a seriously messy divorce. He had even expressed his desire to get back with her at one point, despite being with Julia.
Still, Julia doesn’t seem to have any regrets about her relationship with Ye. “It was the best thing that could have happened to me,” she previously told Entertainment Tonight of their romance.
