Jurassic World Dominion Star Offers Thoughts on Returning Years Later

We haven’t even arrived at the official release of the hyped-up film Jurassic World: Dominion, which will see the return of the new trilogy stars, but people already want more. As of now, the film is already being referred to as a mega-blockbuster event, with a budget of $165 million that it could easily earn back opening weekend given the uptick in box office turnout, suggesting that if there’s a will to continue the franchise, there’s a way.

When promoting the new film, the Jurassic World star Chris Pratt was asked if he would consider coming back to the Jurassic Park (or Jurassic World) universe in a decade or more to reignite the legacy trend if it’s even still feasible. Pratt then confirms his interest and tells ComicBook.com, “I mean, I guess it would probably… possibly? You’d want to leave it open to that possibility. You look at… There aren’t a ton of comps for this kind of a thing. I think maybe Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame is a similar comp because you’ve got whatever that was… 10 years, 20-something films. All of these characters each had their own stories, their own trilogies, coming together. And you’re like, ‘This is wild.’ You’ve seen these worlds collide. It feels the same way. You’ve got the Jurassic Park trilogy. You’ve got the Jurassic World trilogy, and it’s this big epic conclusion.”

In predictable Pratt fashion, the actor then took the conversation a different route and joked, “Now, at the end of Avengers… They’ve continued to make these Marvel films, but that does feel like a phase that is over. It’s rolled over into a new phase, you know? And of course, Marvel continues to do great things. I feel like it seems, it makes sense that Jurassic would continue to tell great stories, but I think Iron Man’s gone. And I guess I would be Hulk. Maybe.”

Let’s just be happy that the original Jurassic Park cast is back, and if there are any future films beyond this, perhaps we should just stick with them. Thoughts?
