Juventus chiefs could soon wield the axe and sack Max Allegri, with the club’s players reportedly growing fed up with their manager. The Italian giants are eighth in the Serie A table and look set to crash out of the Champions League at the group stages after winning just four matches in all competitions this season.
According to Radio 24, there is frost between Allegri and the team, with players holding him responsible for not communicating sufficiently, not having a defined game plan and using outdated physical preparation. Express Sport takes a look at four managers who could replace the 55-year-old.
Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane enjoyed a successful five-year playing career at Juventus as he won two Serie A titles and was named FIFA World Player of the Year on two occasions. And he could be tempted to return to the club as manager after leaving Real Madrid last summer.
Zidane has carved out a stellar reputation as a manager and led Real to three consecutive Champions League trophies between 2016 and 2018, as well as two Club World Cups. And the 50-year-old would likely be welcomed back with open arms if he were to take the top job at Allianz Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino is another man who is currently out of work. The 50-year-old was sacked by Parsi Saint-Germain in July, despite leading them to the Ligue 1 title weeks earlier. Pochettino has experience as a manager in Spain, England and France and helped Tottenham reach the Champions League final in 2019. So he could well already be on Juve’s radar.
Thomas Tuchel
Like Zidane, Thomas Tuchel is a manager who has tasted Champions League glory. The German led Chelsea to the European title in 2021 and backed that up with a Club World Cup triumph earlier this year.
But his Stamford Bridge fairytale was brought to an abrupt end in September as he was given his marching order by the club’s new owner Todd Boehly. Tuchel, who won two Ligue 1 titles during his time in charge of PSG as well as lifting the German Cup with Borussia Dortmund, will be desperate to get back into work and build on his auspicious Blues reign. And Juventus could give him that opportunity.

Antonio Conte
If Juventus would prefer to take the tried and tested approach, they could try to entice Antonio Conte away from Tottenham. The 53-year-old led Juve to three consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2014, before quitting the club and going on to manage Italy.
Conte is a proven champion and tasted Premier League success during his time in charge of Chelsea, before leading Inter Milan to the Serie A title in 2021. Last month, there were reports in Italy that Conte wanted to return to Juventus. So if Allegri is given the chop, Juve chiefs may do all they can to thrash out a compensation package with Spurs in order to land the services of Conte once again.
