K-pop group Monsta X has debuted a new subunit for the first time in the group’s eight-year career, featuring two of the group’s six members: Shownu and Hyungwon.
“This time has been meaningful for us as it’s the first unit from Monsta X,” Hyungwon says. “Although it’s not a group act, we were excited to showcase the unit because we felt we can show a new type of performance.”
Called Shownu X Hyungwon, the unit released its first album, The Unseen, on Tuesday. It comprises five tracks: “Love Me A Little”, “Love Therapy”, “Roll With Me”, “Play Me” and “Slow Dance”.
The pair sing about different versions of themselves, exploring their own perspectives and that of others, and learning to embrace all versions. Hyungwon produced the lead single “Love Me A Little”.
