The internet introduces us to the most fascinating of trends. It gave us the viral, and sometimes dangerous, ‘KiKi’ dance challenge, which had people get off their moving vehicles to dance to Canadian rapper Drake’s ‘In My Feelings’, then came the fun ‘Rasputin’ challenge that had Kerala’s young medicos dancing to Boney M’s hit song from their 1978 album’ Nightflight to Venus’.
And now we have people grooving to ‘kacha badam’—a song a peanut seller from Bengal made up to sell his goods. It all started with a viral video of Bhuban Badyakar, who goes from village to village in West Bengal’s Birbhum singing his jingle and selling peanuts, according to a report on Times Now.
The catchy tune danced its way to the internet’s heart and spawned hundreds of videos of people grooving to its catchy rhythm, including one from South Korea featuring a mother-daughter duo.
Here are a few.
