Kaizer Chiefs and Molefi Ntseki are a mismatch because the mentor hasn’t proved to be a quality coach for a big club like the Soweto giants.

Ntseki was roped in as Amakhosi head coach on Wednesday, taking over from Arthur Zwane who has been demoted to assistant coach role.

Now, asked for his opinion on the club’s decision to replace Zwane with Ntseki, the Leeds United icon wasn’t convinced at all, saying while the coach will make an impact, it won’t be at the required level.

Radebe is of the view that Chiefs need a coach with great reputation who will make the players better and feels Ntseki isn’t quite the man to do that.

KAIZER CHIEFS LEGEND LUCAS RADEBE ISN’T CONVINCED BY NTSEKI’S APPOINTMENT

“I don’t think he has proven enough to be a quality coach for a big club like Kaizer Chiefs. I mean it’s a mismatch,” said Radebe.

“I might be wrong, he might take Kaizer Chiefs to great heights this coming season, but we have to wait and see.”

“It’s my opinion because they got their reasons why they have that kind of move. For me, at a big club like Chiefs, you need someone who is going to be quality in terms of coaches with a great reputation,” he continued.

“Ntseki has been there with the national team. He will make an impact, but for a club like Chiefs, you need a coach that will actually change the players individually and make them better.

“It’s great that they appointed Molefi, but I think the club could have done better and have him in the fold. I think he will take them a few steps to a point where you’d think, ‘this is a club that is worth winning a silverware’, because they will have to get to that level first, and maybe Molefi will take them to that level but not quite to the level where they are winning a trophy,” added Radebe.
