Karol G Reveals Why She Has a Tattoo of Her Own Face

Karol G is well aware of her most recognizable features. “When people think of Karol G, [they] think of the blue hair and the heart tattoo,” she told us herself last year, back before she switched to the vibrant raspberry red hair she has now. Interestingly, she didn’t mention what’s arguably an even more distinct tattoo than the heart: one of her own face.

In a new interview with GQ, Karol reveals that her left forearm tattoo of three faces is — from bottom to top — Rihanna, Selena, and Karol G. Yes, herself. 

“I went to the tattoo artist, and I told him I wanted a tattoo of the women I most admire in the world,” she says of the ink, which features her in three-quarter profile wearing hoop earrings and her hair pulled back. 

And honestly, who can argue with that? We get tattoos of the things and people we love all the time, so if Karol G has a healthy sense of self-love, why not give herself a permanent reminder that she belongs among the greats?

“People should get more tattoos of themselves,” she adds, noting that it’s not about conceit. “Because only you know how hard things have been for yourself. No one can feel that except you.”
