Kate could leave £275,995 worth of her own jewels to Charlotte

Kate Middleton, 41, owns £275,995 of her own jewels, as well as having inherited collections from the late Queen and Princess Diana. Seeing as she only has one daughter, Princess Charlotte, it is likely that the eight-year-old will one day inherit her mother’s own personal royal collection.

The Princess of Wales has her own stunning collection of jewellery and fine jewellery specialists at Steven Stone have determined which pieces she is likely to pass on to Charlotte that did not belong to Queen Elizabeth or Princess Diana.

Amethyst and tourmaline earrings

Estimated value: £3,500

Following the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015, Kate was spotted sporting a stunning pair of earrings that were also believed to be a push present: green amethyst and green tourmaline earrings.

The earrings, which are thought to be worth roughly £3,500, are from one of her favourite jewellery designers, Kiki McDonough.

As these earrings were gifted to Kate to celebrate the birth of Charlotte, it would be hugely sentimental for the Princess to inherit the earrings one day.

Personalised gold necklace

Estimated value: £495

The gold necklace Kate wore during a visit to the Ely and Careau Children’s Centre in Cardiff just two weeks after turning 38 is thought to have been a birthday present from Prince William.

The necklace is marketed as the “Gold Midnight Moon” necklace and was created by British jeweller Daniella Draper.

The bespoke item honours her family with the initials of her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis: G, C, and L. Again, this would make a poignant gift for Princess Charlotte one day.

Leading Diamond Expert, Maxwell Stone, spoke to Express.co.uk about Kate’s personalised gold necklace.

He said: “Though it has little monetary value, the necklace certainly oozes with sentimental value.

“Connected to her parents and siblings, it’s a piece that Princess Charlotte is likely to treasure.”

Ballon Bleu de Cartier

Estimated value: £20,000

In honour of their third wedding anniversary, William gave Kate a Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch with sapphire accents in 2014.

This watch is very similar to his own and Princess Diana’s. The sapphire features perfectly complement the stone in Kate’s engagement ring.

Maxwell added: “This beautiful timepiece is detailed with black Roman numerals on a silver dial along with Cartier’s signature blue steel sword-shaped hands.

“Worn by Kate and sharing similarities with both Princess Diana’s and Prince William’s watch, it’s laced with sentimentality and truly an heirloom that can be passed down through generations.”

Promise Ring

Estimated value: £2,000

Although Kate’s engagement ring is unquestionably her most recognisable piece of jewellery, it wasn’t the first ring William gave her.

The Prince gave Kate a promise ring when they were still dating in university, and she wore it on her middle finger.

The ring has two garnets, which are Kate’s birthstone for January, and pearls, William’s birthstone for June. Both are set on a rose gold Victorian band.

With the birthstones of both William and Kate, the understated but gorgeous ring is full of symbolism, so would be a beautiful gift for Charlotte to inherit one day.

Yellow and white gold suite

Estimated value: £250,000

Kate received a matching set of yellow and white gold jewellery from the then-Prince Charles after her wedding to William.

She has subsequently worn the priceless set, which consists of a ring, a bracelet, and a pair of drop earrings, numerous times.
