Kate Middleton, 40, went to Boston with Prince William for the Earthshot Prize Awards. The Prince of Wales created these awards to celebrate those championing sustainability throughout the world.
For this short trip, the Princess of Wales wore mainly recycled clothes and jewellery, and any new pieces tended to be bought from sustainable brand labels.
However, her outfit came to a total of at least £25,031. This does not include any jewellery which Kate inherited after becoming a member of the Royal Family which she wore on her trip to Boston.
When Kate arrived in Boston on Wednesday, she donned a recycled Alexander McQueen “Peak Shoulder Leaf Crepe Jacket in Navy” which came to a whopping £1,490.
She paired this with matching Alexander McQueen “High-waisted Cigarette Trousers” which came to just £550 from Farfetch.

For footwear, she wore her favourite Gianvito Rossi “105 Navy Suede Pumps” which she has worn many times before, and cost just £595 from Net-A-Porter.
The Princess accessorised with sapphire earrings which previously belonged to Princess Diana. Alexandra Michell, a Gemologist at Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn fame, spoke to Express.co.uk about these jewels.
She said: “Fast forward to Kate’s sapphire earrings, it is believed that one of these pairs of earrings which Diana had, a part of them was remodelled into a pair of single diamond topped sapphire and diamond cluster earrings.”
Alexandra estimates they could be sold at auction for “an excess of £200,000”. For jewellery lovers, Alexandra described the piece: “Hanging from shepherd’s hooks, the round cut single diamonds look to be about 0.30-carats each, with nine slightly larger 0.40pcts diamonds on each earring surrounding approximately five-carat each oval cut sapphires, most likely of Kashmir origin.”

For footwear, she donned some Emmy London official “Rebecca Green Pumps” for just £425. To accessorise she wore a new pair of Shyla London “Chunky Knot Baroque Pearl Earrings”, which is renowned as a sustainable label, for just £72.
