The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, and Prince Harry and Meghan travelled from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace to receive Her Majesty’s coffin. This is the second time the royal couples are seen together since greeting mourners at Windsor Castle over the weekend.
King Charles and Queen Camilla lead the family as they received the coffin at the Palace, where it will lie until is taken to Westminster Hall tomorrow.
Kate and William looked tearful in the car arriving at Buckingham Palace, where they joined the other members of the Royal Family.
The Princess of Wales was seen wearing a black dress, pearl earrings and a pearl necklace, which was a sweet tribute to Queen Elizabeth, who loved pearls.
Queen Elizabeth was rarely seen without her iconic three strings of pearls around her neck and Kate opted for a sophisticated piece featuring multiple strings of pearls, which presumably belonged to the Queen, to receive Her Majesty’s coffin in London.

Founder of Budrevich Fine Jewellery Studio, Arseiny Budrevich, told Express.co.uk that the Royal Family love pearls as they “represent the aristocratic virtues of liberality, magnificence and generosity” and they also “symbolise purity and chastity”.
The expert explained: “Pearls have been associated with class, elegance and sophistication since the Ptolemaic dynasty in ancient Egypt, where the Royal Family wore pearls to show their status.
“This tradition was then passed down through the holy Roman empire to the French monarchs who carried it into fashion in the middle ages, where it was subsequently dispersed through Europe. This is when the British empire picked up the style.”
For today’s occasion, Kate kept her make-up simple and her hair loose.

Charlotte White, head of design at 77 Diamonds, explained that Kate, the Princess of Wales, is “deeply fond of classic pearls”.
She said: “The perennial appeal of pearls among royals is partly due to the way that, not unlike diamonds, they cast a gentle and kind light on all that surrounds them and flatter complexions.
“They are versatile, blending in with different styles of dress for different occasions. There is also something discreet and understated about pearls, their true value not glaringly obvious, and often known only to the wearer.
“Yet for those who know how to look closely at precious jewellery, high quality, lustrous pearls are highly valued.”
Her Majesty the Queen’s coffin landed at Northolt and was received at Buckingham Palace by King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, her children and grandchildren, as well as her niece and nephew, Lady Sarah Chatto and Earl Snowdon.
Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward with their spouses, the Queen Consort, Sir Tim Laurence and the Countess of Wessex were present.
The Queen’s grandchildren including Princess Beatrice and her husband Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, Peter Phillips, Zara and Mike Tindall, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, were also at Buckingham Palace.
