“It reminded us of the wedding dress worn by the late Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, with its long sleeves and 1950s silhouette – a fitted bodice, nipped-in waist and flared skirt.
“Before her wedding to Prince William, brides were choosing sleeveless dresses, with a sweetheart neckline and no veil – then afterwards we saw a real move to a more vintage look with long veils, delicate laces and that flattering hourglass cut.”
Aside from their classic designs, Kate and Grace’s dresses also drew other comparisons.
