What do Kate Middleton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Sienna Miller have in common? They’re all fans of a knitted midi-dress. To visit a children’s centre in Middlesex on Wednesday afternoon, Kate selected a sleek ribbed dress in khaki green, and styled it under a belted coat in a similar shade.
The Princess of Wales frequently mixes affordable pieces with her Alexander McQueen formalwear and Jimmy Choo heels, but her latest high-street find is from a retailer that’s especially popular with the street-style set: Mango. Camille Charrière just unveiled a collaboration with the brand, and celebrities from Sienna to Selena Gomez have been snapped wearing its pieces.
The royal’s dress, which retails for under $50, is now sold out online, as is her wool coat—another high-street buy from Hobbs—indicating that the so-called “Kate effect” is as powerful as ever now that she’s Princess of Wales.
Kate has been taking an increasingly conscious approach to her public-facing wardrobe, wearing the same pieces on repeat to high-profile events, as well as adding to her growing collection of vintage fashion. A recent highlight? The deep blue Chanel bouclé blazer from 1995 she wore for a visit to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. A sign of still more promising things to come.
