Kate Middleton marked her first Remembrance Day as the Princess of Wales with a touching nod to Queen Elizabeth II.
On November 12, Middleton joined Prince William at Royal Albert Hall in London for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance wearing a Self-Portrait chiffon blazer dress with a red poppy pin to honour fallen military members. She also took the opportunity to pay homage to her late grandmother-in-law by dipping into Queen Elizabeth’s expansive jewellery collection.
Middleton wore a sentimental pair of pearl drop earrings that were gifted to then Princess Elizabeth on her 1947 wedding day by Hakim of Bahrain. She paired the earrings with the four-strand pearl and diamond choker that Kate previously wore to the queen and Prince Philip’s diamond wedding anniversary in 2017. The Princess of Wales wore the same pieces to Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September.
While Middleton has proved time and again that she loves to re-wear her favourite look, this ensemble proves she is also the kind of woman who purchases her faves in multiple colours. The princess first wore the Self-Portrait dress in cream to host a reception celebrating the Hold Still project in September 2021.
