Katie Holmes Has Officially Perfected I-Woke-Up-Like-This Hair

Katie Holmes has been a beauty icon since the first moment she stepped onto the screen as the ultimate girl next door as Joey Potter on Dawson’s Creek, and more than 20 years later, her impact hasn’t waned one bit. In fact, her powers of effortless chic are only getting stronger, as evidenced by a recent snapshot of the star with “I woke up like this” wavy hair.

Holmes was spotted out and about in her home turf of New York City looking like the textbook definition of casual cool on a hot summer day. The actor wore her espresso brunette hair in perfectly messy undone waves pushed back from her face and over one shoulder as though she’d slept on wet hair and woke up with gently tousled texture. Or perhaps she hopped out of the pool, the ocean or Dawson’s titular creek, got dressed and let her hair air dry into perfect bedhead bends. How does she do it? Speaking from experience, my wavy hair does not dry this graciously without a little help, so Holmes must possess some hair magic that I don’t know about.
