MANILA, Philippines—Justin Gutang and the Changwon LG Sakers bowed out of the Korean Basketball League championship contention after being swept by the Seoul SK Knights, 85-84, at Jamsil Students’ Gymnasium on Tuesday.
The SK Knights will move on to the Finals series against either Rhenz Abando’s Anyang KGC or the Goyang Carrot Jumpers while the LG Sakers failed to bounce back from their 92-91 defeat on Tuesday to effectively be eliminated for the season.
Gutang balled out in his last game of the season as a starter for Changwon with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block in 28 minutes of action.
Lee Jae-Do also finished big with 24 points but on a losing effort.
Kim Seon-Hyung fired from all cylinders for Seoul with 25 points from an efficient 55 percent shooting clip, sinking 11 of his 20 attempts from the field.
Jameel Warney helped the SK Knights’ cause with a double-double of 23 markers and 12 boards.
Meanwhile, Abando and Anyang took a 2-1 series lead on Monday after trouncing the Carrot Jumpers, 76-72.
The Filipino import, however, was used for just 50 seconds in the victory and ended up with a lone rebound.
