MANILA, Philippines—The Wonju DB Promy sorely missed the services of Ethan Alvano on Wednesday.
With the Fil-American guard unavailable, Wonju suffered a 97-63 whipping at the hands of the Seoul SK Knights at Jamsil Students’ Gymnasium.
Jameel Warney powered the Knights with a double-double performance of 29 points and 14 rebounds.
Jun-hyung Choi added 17 points, built on three triples, for defending champion Seoul, which improved to a 16-12 slate.
The 26-year-old Alvano has emerged as one of Wonju’s main weapons in only his first season in the KBL.
Alvano is averaging 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game for DB Promy, who fell to 11-18.
Wonju had four players scoring 10 apiece in the loss while Lennard Freeman had eight points and 13 rebounds.
