Saks’s summer soiree in the Hamptons has become something of a seasonal highlight. This time around, CEO Marc Metrick welcomed guests at one of his favorite Long Island haunts, a charming diner specializing in—what else!—lobster rolls. On arrival, chilled flutes of Champagne and plates of seafood were passed just as the sun was setting. Dressed in a form-fitting burgundy red shirt dress by LaQuan Smith, Keke Palmer looked particularly striking in the warm evening light. “I love that I don’t have to wear a jacket in the summer or too many clothes,” she said. “It feels good to show a little skin. And who doesn’t love a party in the summer?”
With a leading role in Jordan Peele’s new sci-fi horror Nope, the actor and presenter has plenty to celebrate right now. “The premiere is on Monday in L.A. and my fitting is actually tomorrow,” said Palmer excitedly—she flew in from California especially for the event. Styling duo Micah & Wayman have been helping Palmer hone her aesthetic lately, one she describes as casual and cool. “I’ve been looking at a lot of Julia Roberts’s early looks lately,” said Palmer, whose wardrobe currently consists of “a lot of blazers, jeans, sneakers, and boss energy!!”
Designers Prabal Gurung and LaQuan Smith clearly got the memo and both came decked out in chic lightweight tailoring. The ever glamorous Fe Noel showed up in her own version of a summer suit—a slinky matching mesh white trouser and blouse set complete with her signature ruffled sleeve.
The evening drew to a close long after sunset, as mini portions of key lime were served. In the goodie bags, guests picked up on their way out, a special savory treat: delicious tins of Petrossian caviar on ice.
