That same year, Kendall Jenner attended her first Met Gala wearing a mermaid-style gown by Topshop. “I felt really beautiful this night. I look at it now, and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I looked like a baby,’ but I felt like a woman,” she said of the dress. “I was using Kim’s hair and makeup people, so I was, like, I feel like I’m embracing this woman side of me.”
Speaking of Kim Kardashian, Jenner says she was one of the few people she knew at the high-fashion event aside from Kanye West, whom Jenner simply referred to as her sister’s “husband at the time.”
“I was really just going in on my own and it was really scary,” Jenner said. “I warmed up immediately once I got to my table, and it all was good. And then my sister Kim is so nice. She just kept coming and checking in on me. ‘Are you good? Are you good?’ Now I get to go with all my friends so it’s the best thing ever.”
Eight years later, Kendall Jenner attended the 2022 Met Gala with bleached brows, wearing a two-piece Prada set with a sheer mesh top. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
