Kevin Durant may not always have gotten along with Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving when he played with them, but he clearly has plenty of respect for both dynamic guards.
On Tuesday, Durant responded on Twitter in a thread about players whose play styles and skill sets influenced the masses.
The Phoenix Suns forward highlighted Irving and Westbrook as two players who don’t get the recognition they deserve.
“Kyrie and Russ too. Inspired a whole generation, they don’t ever get credit for it tho,” he wrote.

While Durant never won a title with either point guard, he did get to the NBA Finals once with Westbrook and was one win away from returning in their final season together in Oklahoma City.
He and Irving also appeared to shift the entire landscape of the NBA when they committed to sign with the Brooklyn Nets. Things just didn’t work out in the long run.
Now, Durant will try his hand with another super team following the trade of Bradley Beal to Phoenix. Beal, Durant and Devin Booker will try to win a title together in the desert.
