Kevin Durant’s home debut with the Suns was spoiled by an ankle injury he suffered in pregame warmups. At that time, there were legitimate concerns that he’d miss the rest of the regular season.
Luckily for NBA fans, it won’t be long until they get to see Durant back on the court.
According to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic, Durant is progressing towards a potential return to action next Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
“Phoenix Suns’ 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant (sprained ankle) is progressing toward a potential return to action on Wednesday vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, barring any setback,” Charania said.

In limited action with the Suns, Durant has averaged 26.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Durant’s return should give the Suns a much-needed lift heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
The Suns are just 5-5 in their last 10 games. Despite their recent struggles, they’re in fourth place in the Western Conference.
