Damian Lillard is one of the most universally well-regarded players in the NBA, but public opinion is beginning to shift away from him.
Lillard requested a trade away from the lone franchise with which he has spent his entire NBA career to this point in the Portland Trail Blazers.
Lillard has been praised for his loyalty to Portland in the past, but the trade rumors have caused some fans’ opinions of him to turn negative.
One of those fans recently spoke on Lillard’s reported desire to join the Miami Heat in a potential trade, in an attempt to explain why the All-Star guard would want to go there.
I understand why Dame is set on one team. He’s 32 & short with injury history. He probably has 1-2 more years at this level he gotta capitalize

“He’s 32 and short with injury history,” the fan said. “He probably has 1-2 more years at this level he gotta capitalize.”
The perpetually online Kevin Durant took issue with this tweet.
Lol 1 or 2 more years Lmao. What do u be watching gang seriously.

“Lol 1 or 2 more years Lmao. What do u be watching gang seriously,” Durant said, indicating that he thought the idea of Lillard falling off in a year or two was a ridiculous thing to say.
History and recent results appear to be on Durant’s side. Lillard, at age 32, is coming off his best individual season.
He averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game last season with efficiency numbers among the best in his career.
If Lillard is going to fall off, it would be a dramatic drop from the season he just had.
