Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett doesn’t want to hear any of the criticism of two-time All-Star Jaylen Brown – especially from anonymous sources.
Yesterday a report from anonymous front office members around the league said that Boston is reluctant to re-sign Brown to a big extension because he’s viewed as the “third-, fourth- or fifth-best” member of the team.
“I’ve had a couple people in opposing front offices tell me something along the lines of ‘Are the Celtics really gonna pay their 3rd or 4th or 5th best player all this money?’” one source said, via Hoops Hype.
Garnett didn’t appreciate that criticism at all. Taking to X, Garnett found the criticism ridiculous and suggested that the only way Brown could be considered that bad would be if the Celtics had LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry on the team.
“Huh? Bron, KD and Steph play for Boston now? Tf,” Garnett wrote.

The Boston Celtics have been a dominating force in the NBA over the past couple of years thanks in no small part to Jaylen Brown continuing to improve year over year.
Boston have not missed the playoffs in any of Brown’s years with the team and barely lost a step in the transition from Brad Stevens to Ime Udoka to Joe Mazzulla in the span of two years.
Will Jaylen Brown emerge a top five player while he’s in Boston?
