The Sports Authority of India and the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh, has given the approval to operate the Khelo India Center of table tennis in Agra.

At last good news for the sports lovers and table tennis players of Agra. Agra Sports Officer Sunil Chand Joshi has informed that the “Khelo India Center” for table tennis will start operating soon at Eklavya Sports Stadium, Agra.
According to Joshi, as per the instructions of the Sports Authority of India and the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh Lucknow, approval has been given to operate the Khelo India Center of table tennis in Agra under the scheme of One District – One Sport. On April 27, table tennis players in the age group of 7 to 18 years will be selected at the Eklavya Sports Stadium.
Joshi has urged the district school inspector to be present during the selection of players as well as direct his subordinate schools so that the maximum number of players can participate in the selection process.

He has also informed that free training and kits/equipment of Khelo India will be provided to the selected players.
State/national level table tennis players will be given preference in the selection. The time and venue of the selection trials of players is table tennis hall at 4.00 pm.
Senior journalist and table tennis player Sunayan Chaturvedi has expressed happiness about the plan to make “Khelo India Center” for table tennis in Agra. He said, “This will help the talented table tennis players of Agra to hone their talent and compete at the national and international level. They will get an opportunity to make their mark nationwide”.
Hindustani Biradari vice president, Vishal Sharma has also welcomed this decision of the government and has expressed hope that the government will also pay attention to the decades-long demand for the construction of an international level stadium in Agra so that the talented players of Agra could get a chance to show their talent to the country in other sports as well.
