Kim Kardashian breaks down as ex-husband Kanye West retrieves her sex tape on latest The Kardashians episode

Kim Kardashian has been haunted by her sex tape for the entirety of her career, so it’s hardly surprising that when she learns that ex-husband Kanye West had managed to retrieve the original tapes of her and ex-boyfriend Ray J, the reality star couldn’t stop herself from bursting into tears. And fans got to witness the moment as the exchange aired on the Kardashian family’s new Hulu docuseries by the same name. 

The moment marks the first time that the rapper has appeared on the new show, famously camera shy in the original Kardashian reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, where viewers only saw him a handful of times despite him being married to Kim, so some were surprised to see him feature post the couple divorcing.

However, we couldn’t help but be touched by the moment as we see Kanye inside a hotel room with Kim’s momager. Kanye tells Kris Jenner that he had to “get something for Kim” and flew across the country to do this favour for his ex-wife. Kim even reiterated the entire scenario and explained how Kanye handed her a suitcase, and it had a computer and hard drive inside.

“Kanye flew home last night and he came back this morning, and I want to show you guys what he brought me,” she told the film crew. “He got me all of the [expletive] tape back. And he flew home and he got the computer, and it was on the hard drive. He met up with Ray J at the airport and got it all back for me.”

Kim starts sobbing heavily and admits to the confessional, “I know Kanye did this for me, but he also did this for my kids. I want to shield them from this as much as I can and if I have the power or Kanye has the power to, that is just the most important thing to me. I’m just so emotional because of it. It just means a lot to me.”

Kris is heard in the background saying, “Finally,” as Kim Kardashian jokes, “I think I need a security guard just to stand by the janky bag.”
