Kim Kardashian embraces the new frontier of sheer: transparent leather

Leave it to Kim Kardashian to introduce a new sheer concept to the sheer universe: sheer leather suiting. The reality TV star and SKIMS cofounder wore a sheer ivory pantsuit on Tuesday, April 25 for a guest appearance at the Time 100 Summit in New York City.

Kim’s suit, from frequent collaborator Rick Owens, features a transparent ivory leather longline jacket with deep pockets. Underneath it, she wore an opaque ivory bandeau top. She completed the look with the suit’s coordinating pants, which have a slight flare leg. Kim accessorised with silver stud earrings, a silver pendant necklace, and heels that match the suit.

She wore her dark brown hair in a very Spice Girls-inspired bun with chunky pieces dangling around her face. For makeup, she went for elongated lashes, pink cheeks, and a pink glossy lip.

“For me, I was just looking for a solution to the fact that I love to wear shapewear and there wasn’t a colour tone that fit my skin tone, let alone most of my friends,” she told Poppy Harlow of her business at the Time 100 Summit, per CNN. Kim Kardashian also claimed that she dyed her shapewear with tea bags before founding SKIMS, which might sound like a lot, but it’s hardly the most extreme length she’s gone too in the name of beauty. This is the woman who once claimed she’d eat poop if it made her look younger, after all!
