Remember noughties bangs? Way back when, it was simply the fringe every high school girl coveted on the playground. Cut either side of a centre-parting, they were the sharper little sister to the curtain bang favoured by the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Nicole Richie and every Kardashian sister. Instead of a wide, curved, ’70s shape, they were slick, straightened and went perfectly with our jumbo hoop earrings.

But since trends are cyclical, we can already see the noughties bang making a return – with a glossy new-gen update, of course. And, leading the charge is Kim Kardashian, who must have searched her own archive to resurrect the hairstyle she was rocking in 2008.
This week, she posted a series of videos to her Instagram Stories, while familiarising herself with a new set of noughties bangs. Her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, cut the new detail in for her ahead of an appearance in LA for her shapewear brand, SKIMS’ Valentine’s Shop Pop-Up at Westfield Century City. And it’s appropriate timing since the fringe looked sultry.
