Kim Kardashian just landed her first major acting role

It’s finally time to call Kim Kardashian an ‘actor.’ The reality television star and entrepreneur who gets her ass up every morning and works will soon get her ass up and go directly to the set of the next season of American Horror Story. On Monday, April 10, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that Kim is joining the cast, which also includes Emma Roberts.

Per THR, the role was written specifically for Kim K. The upcoming 12th season of the anthology series is written by Halley Feiffer, who will also serve as showrunner.

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” co-creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

The 12th season will be titled Delicate and is partially based on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition, which doesn’t come out until August. Bookshop.org describes the book as “a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens ― while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.” 

THR reports that Kim Kardashian and Ryan Murphy are friends, and that the producer was impressed with her performance as Saturday Night Live host back in 2021. Kim has acted before, but this would mark her first high-profile role. AHS famously launched the acting career of Lady Gaga, who appeared in the fifth season, AHS: Hotel, for which she won a Golden Globe; she was later nominated for an Oscar for her performance in 2018’s A Star Is Born.
