Coronation Concert viewers were left in fits of laughter when host Kirsty Young got Nicole Scherzinger’s name… very wrong indeed.

The Pussycat Doll, 44, is on the list for the music extravaganza at Windsor Castle this weekend, celebrating the crowning of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Olly Murs, Lionel Richie, and more are also on the bill, performing to a crowd of 20,000, as well as members of the Royal Family on a spectacular stage.

It’s all very exciting, and it seems the excitement proved a bit much for Kirsty.

Nicole took a moment backstage to chat with Jordan Banjo about her performance while also teasing her outfits.

She revealed that she’d be singing Reflection from Mulan, which makes her feel like a real-life Princess as she belts out the tune on castle grounds.

The US star was full of beans, but her interview got cut short when Charles and Camilla arrived, along with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Introducing the monarch and his family, Kirsty, 54, said they had arrived early, noting that they were ‘keen’ to get the party started.

‘There, of course, we see the arrival of their Majesties the King and Queen, there’s not very much that could upstage Nicole Sterchinger,’ Kirsty said, instantly realising that she’d butchered Nicole’s name.

‘You know who I mean!’, she laughed.

The host later poked fun at her blunder.

‘If anyone was gonna cut my time off with Nicole Scherzinger, it had to be the King,’ the Diversity star joked.

‘I couldn’t even say Nicole Scherzinger, never mind apologise for it!’, Kirsty quipped.

The mishap didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, though, with Twitter users keen to check if everyone else picked up on her fumble of words.

‘Not the presenter pronouncing Nicole Scherzinger’s name so horribly’, one viewer tweeted.

‘Did she say I can’t even say Nicole scherzinger? She just did! lol’, another mocked.

‘Nicole Surgeonzer????’, another questioned.

‘HOWLING AT HOW KIRSTY YOUNG JUST SAID NICOLE SCHERZINGER and then went ah you know what I mean’, another laughed.

‘Can’t wait for Nicole Sirginger to perform’, one person teased.

‘Did she just call her Nicole Slazenger’, another penned.

Oh dear, Kirsty!
