Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted more new signings will arrive at the club before the end of the transfer window.
The Reds endured a sub-par season last term, but Klopp has told fans they will do everything to make this season one they ‘won’t forget’.
Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League and missed out on Champions League qualification by four points.
They have been quick to invest in the market, though, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai both moving to Anfield.
Transfer activity appears to have slowed since the latter’s arrival at the start of July, but Klopp is keen to sign more talent, particularly with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho set to depart for Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the ‘We Are Liverpool’ podcast, he said: “There are so many things to do.
“The transfer window is open. If my day would have 28 hours at the moment it would not be a problem – I could fill them easily!
“With all the things you have to do left and right, my main focus and energy has to go into the training sessions then that’s what I do. Then either side of the sessions I can try to help with other stuff.
“Still three-and-a-half weeks until the first game of the season. a few things have to happen before then, definitely, transfer market wise as well.
“That is clear now. And it will happen. New players have to come in. We will have a good team.”
Liverpool won the FA Cup and League Cup in the 2022/23 campaign but could not get their hands on silverware last season.
With trophies yet again the aim, Klopp has called for fans to show their trust: “Seven-and-a-half years ago… I said that we have to change from doubters to believers.
“I didn’t know [at] that time that this will kind of be a phrase of that period because we all change. So, I was not sure at that time and maybe I was a doubter in the beginning – but I became a massive believer.
“But, of course, the last years, nearly winning the quadruple but not doing it actually, and then having the season we had, that can create some doubt, I know that.
“Then people want to change – on one day they want to change the team on 12 positions and then the next day only one. And then we change and then it’s the wrong player, ‘No, no, not him’, and stuff like this.
“What I would like to ask for: trust us.
“We feel really responsible for what’s happening here and we will do absolutely everything to have a season, in the best possible understanding, we will never forget. That’s the plan.”
