After six years, the New York Knicks and general manager Scott Perry are parting ways.
Perry, whose contract is up this summer, will not be returning to the organization, according to multiple reports Tuesday night.
Because this news broke on the same day that longtime Golden State Warriors executive Bob Myers announced he would be stepping away after 12 years, many people began debating the viability of Myers possibly landing in New York.
“Scott Perry getting his walking papers at 11:30pm the same day Bob Myers walks. We’ll talk about it later…” said one hopeful Knicks fan.

“So long Scott Perry Hello Bob Myers,” another Knicks fan added.

“All this Bob Myers talk is nonsense. Why would he leave a POBO job to be a GM? Let’s get it together Knicks fans and just thank Scott Perry for stabilizing the franchise,” a third Knicks fan said.

“I don’t want to be the one to spoil dreams, but no, this is not bringing Bob Myers to the Knicks,” said Newsday Knicks writer Steve Popper.

If we had to bet, the odds of Myers going to New York seem astronomically low. Don’t count on it happening.
In six seasons under Perry, the Knicks stabilized as an organization. After going 67-163 in their first three years with Perry at the helm, New York went 125-111 with two playoff appearances in the final three.
