Needless to say, the very candid Karan Johar spoke to his Dhadak actor about his recent breakup with Ananya Panday. The direct question asked by the host was handled very subtly by Ishaan Khatter who also added that she will always have a special place in his life.

In the middle of the episode, Karan Johar was seen discussing the relationship status of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. After asking Ananya Panday about her breakup with Ishaan, Karan Johar once questioned the Dhadak actor about his relationship status and his current equation with his Khaali Peeli co-star. He asked, “You broke up with Ananya Panday?” To which, Ishaan replied, “Did I? Because you said she broke up with me recently.” Karan Johar responded to it by saying, “Breakups are always mutual.” While the comment left the guests surprised, Katrina even questioned the host, “Are breakups really mutual Karan?” leaving him in splits.
When asked about his current status with Ananya, he added, “Yeah, I mean, I would hope to have her as a friend for the rest of my life. She is one of the most wonderful people I have known. She is a sweetheart, she really is. Anyone who has met her would say this. She genuinely is a sweetheart. And all pulpy questions aside, she is someone who is very dear to me and will always remain so.”
On the other hand, amid his discussion about Ishaan and Ananya, he also spoke about the latter confessing about how she went on a ‘friendly date’ with Liger co-star Vijay Deverakonda, to which Ishaan maintained, “All Love”. When it came to Ananya Panday, the SOTY 2 actress did not comment on her relationship with Ishaan at all.
For the uninitiated, Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter reportedly started dating each other when they started work on their 2020 film Khaali Peeli.
