Korean soccer superstar touches down ahead of Spurs’ arrival

International soccer icon Son Heung-min has been spotted soaking up the Australian weather at the WACA as his Tottenham Hotspur teammates were set to jet into Perth on Saturday night.

Tottenham Hotspur forward — and celebrated South Korean captain — Son, 31, trained at the WACA and shared a happy snap on Instagram as he prepared for Tuesday’s match against West Ham United at Optus Stadium.

Known as one of the nicest men in soccer, Son — who is the first Asian player to reach 100 Premier League goals — was dressed in training gear and gave a happy thumbs up and smile to the team’s 15.6 million Instagram followers.

“An early arrival in Australia . . . See you soon, @hm_son7! ????,” the post read.

Sharing their love for the soccer star’s arrival, several fans — including Eagles legend Nic Naitanui — showed their appreciation by liking and commenting on the post.

Son signed with Tottenham in late 2015 for $42 million and in 2022 he won a Premier League Golden Boot Award after a 23-goal 2021-22 season.

Son’s arrival comes as the London side’s boss Ange Postecoglou gets his first chance to see the team in competitive action during the pre-season tour to Australia and Asia.

English soccer legend Harry Kane has been confirmed to touch down on Saturday after Spurs posted a photo of Kane all smiles with defender Eric Dier on a flight to Perth.

Kane is one of England’s all-time greats, and the record goalscorer for both the English national team and Tottenham.

It’s been revealed that soccer fans from as far away as China, the UK, Israel and the US have headed to Perth to watch the Premier League giants.

The WA Government says about 7500 tickets have been sold to people outside of WA, with visitors from 24 countries.

“We know the enormous strength of WA fans,” Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti said. “This has been evident with the thousands that have turned up so far to the EPL open-training matches this week alone.
