Kourtney Kardashian took to Twitter recently to clarify that her son Mason, whom she shares with ex Scott Disick, does not have an Instagram account.
There are fake accounts purporting to be him (people make profiles for celebs’ kids all the time…it’s very weird, tbh), but lest you get confused, they are, at best, fan accounts. They’re not actually Mason, who is all of 12.
The way Kardashian, who is also mom to son Reign and daughter Penelope, phrased this reminder is, actually, pretty funny. “Hello everyone, hope it is a beautiful Thursday. After months and months of thinking you would all know that is NOT Mason on these fake accounts, some of you don’t. So I will spell it out clearly: that is NOT Mason on these fake social media accounts talking about our family,” she wrote.

Translation: “I thought you all were smart enough to practice basic media literacy, but you are not. Stop believing everything you see online, dummies. LOL.”
On a more serious note, she then asked news (or as she calls it, “news” – ouch) outlets not to report on the various accounts’ posts, and called the person or people creating the accounts “ultra ultra ultra creepy.” Couldn’t agree more.

As Romper points out, Mason is especially unlikely to launch an Instagram presence any time soon, because he ran into a spot of trouble on the platform a couple years ago. He did a Live post and apparently shared some information he wasn’t supposed to, which he later regretted.
In December 2021, he texted his aunt, Kim Kardashian, offering to talk to her daughter North West about the pitfalls of social media (this was in the run-up to Kanye’s going ballistic over North’s heavily monitored TikTok account).
If there’s one thing Kourtney Kardashian and the rest of this family knows, it’s how and when to use Instagram, so much so that they’ve taken it upon themselves to criticise the platform’s TikTok-ification. Points were made.
