Jurgen Klopp discusses the title race ahead of travelling to Southampton

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe was “flattered” by Liverpool’s interest in signing him but has now informed the club he will not be joining them.

The France international is out of contract in Paris this summer and has previously spoken about his admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s side. But he now appears to face a straight choice between extending his stay at the Ligue 1 champions or joining Spanish giants Real Madrid.

It comes as reports suggest Divock Origi has opened talks with AC Milan about a summer move to Italy. And Thomas Tuchel has been spotted in footage pushing Jordan Henderson before Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Mbappe snubs Liverpool

Kylian Mbappe’s representatives have reportedly informed Liverpool that the France international will not be joining the Premier League club this summer.

The PSG forward is set to become one of the bargains of the summer transfer window if he decides to leave his current club for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season. He had been linked with a move to Anfield after he described Liverpool as a “machine” in 2020 as he called Klopp a “very good manager”.

But he’s now told the Reds he won’t be joining them and must now decide between staying in Paris or joining Madrid.

The Belgium international’s contract with the Reds expires in the summer and he has been widely tipped to leave the club despite manager Jurgen Klopp describing him as “world-class” just a matter of weeks ago. And the players representatives are now said to be in discussions with Milan – who could offer the striker a pay rise to move to Italy.

Reports coming out of Italy suggest Milan are willing to offer him £65,500 per week – slightly higher than the £60,000 per week he receives at Liverpool.

Tuchel pushes Henderson

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was caught on camera playfully pushing Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson before the FA Cup final.

The incident happened as the managers met the match officials ahead of kick-off on Saturday. Captains were also allowed to be present at the meeting although it appears Tuchel may not have known this as Cesar Azpilicueta was a no-show.

When it was pointed out to Tuchel he could have brought his captain, he playfully pushed Henderson out of the discussion leaving just the two managers.
