Kylie Jenner is making a great case for Millennial side partings

Is it just us, or is Kylie Jenner making a pretty good case for those millennial side partings Gen-Z have been slandering us over? Many of us who have been sporting side partings for the past few decades and still can’t get enough of them. However, one day Gen-Z woke up and decided that side partings were out and middle partings were in, and if you didn’t get with the programme, then you were reduced to being “cheugy” and simply just too uncool because of it.

If you’re confused, it’s likely you are in fact part of the so-called “cheugy” tribe. However, many celebs have maintained their stance that no hairstyle is uncool, specially the good ol’ side parting. Granted, Kylie Jenner is no stranger to setting fashion trends, and her latest beauty look is clearly no exception. Despite some naysayers claiming that the middle part is the only way to wear your hair these days, Kylie is bringing back the millennial side part with a vengeance.

The side part was a staple of the early 2000s, popularised by stars like Jennifer Aniston and all the year 11 girls in your school that used to be the OG influencers and trend setters. In fact, they often would be styled with a spiked and wet looking, straightened, separated side fringe. They then often could be paired with hair curled with tongues. You know that straight fringe at the front, party curls at the back look. Unlocks Pandora’s box.

Kylie Jenner herself clearly is a fan, and people on social media have referenced her latest look to be giving serious nostalgic side fringe energy. The billionaire mumma-of-two has been spotted rocking a sleek and stylish side part in her recent Instagram posts while attending Jean Paul Gaultier x The Webster launch of the ready-to-wear Flowers Collection.
