Kym Marsh discusses her new role in play Fatal Attraction

Kym Marsh got down and dirty live on stage with her former Coronation Street co-star.

The 45-year-old actress played out the steamy scenes on stage with co-star Oliver Farnworth in Brighton’s Theatre Royal version of Fatal Attraction.

The former Coronation Street actress plays spurned lover Alex Forrest, who is hell-bent on manipulative and violent revenge against married lover Dan Gallagher.

The play, which opened at the Royal Theatre in Brighton this week, is based on the 1987 film starring Glenn Close and Michael Douglas.

And Kym strips off for the steamy scenes which sees her character have sex on stage.

Before she made her Fatal Attraction debut, Kym revealed she was daunted at the ‘terrifying’ task of stripping off.

Kym told The Mirror: “ Oh I’m terrified, absolutely terrified. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been in the acting game for a long time now and this is something I’ve never actually done – it’s going to be a challenge in itself.

“But I think once I’ve done it once it will be done. And it’s not real! It’s just another side to the part I’m playing.”

The star also revealed that she underwent extra preparations for the ‘racy’ moments in the play.

Kym confessed she has been working out to achieve her ideal shape.

She explained: “There is one particularly racy scene, and I must admit that’s a bit daunting. I’ve never had to do intimate scenes like that, so this is all a very new thing for me.

“Once I got told I was doing it, I was like, ‘Nobody needs to see this body right now’.

“I’m 45, I’ve had four children and I’ve not had an easy year with my fitness — it had to go on the back burner,” she told The Sun.

She went on: “I’m not going to be totally naked, but it’s still baring more flesh than you may want to in front of hundreds of people in a theatre every night. I just need to feel confident doing it, so I’m working hard at the gym to try to get in shape.”
