The debate between sports fans across the globe often comes down to one thing. What is the most difficult thing to do between a nine-dart finish in darts, a hole-in-one in golf, or to make a 147 in snooker. This afternoon, one of those rare things happened with Kyren Wilson making a 147 at the World Championship.
It was just the 13th maximum break in Crucible history with Wilson becoming only the ninth person to ever do it at the venue. The Englishman potted 15 reds, 15 blacks and all the colours to complete a memorable 147 break during his first round win over Ryan Day.

Kyren Wilson reacts to that 147 maximum break
After losing the final back in 2020, Kyren Wilson will be more eager than ever to go all the way this time and speaking to the BBC after his first-round win, he said that he was “absolutely buzzing” with the outcome.
Wilson said:
I’m absolutely buzzing. I’m so happy with that,
I’ve said for a long time I want to leave a legacy , that’s something my kids can watch back again. It’s been on my bucket list.
There’s no pressure like it. I actually got a little bit distracted and when I got down for the pink I couldn’t feel my right arm. That will live long in the memory.

There’s several ‘perfect’ sporting benchmarks across different sports – a 9-darter in darts, a hole in one at golf, a left foot, right foot, headed hat-trick at football, but 147s are always special moments. Got 36 shots to make it & only takes 1 bad shot for cards to fall down. https://t.co/PWKUaI9ukH

And yes it’s still harder than a 9 darter and hole in one. Outstanding display from Kyren https://t.co/siwd4Y8T8L

An incredible achievement for the 31-year-old who has clearly become a dark horse to go all the way in this year’s World Snooker Championship.
