With free agency approaching, the NBA offseason is set to be very interesting for a number of players.
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving, who could find a new team soon, is among one of those players.
Despite a possible change in scenery, Irving says he’s tired of hearing about where he’s going or what he should do from fans.
Kyrie Irving on free agency: “Stop mentioning me on Twitter. All y’all fan bases. It is still the…Conference Finals…Can you please leave me the f**k out of this…Y’all got people at my dinner table discussing what my free agency plans are ????…I see all y’all mentions, I said… pic.twitter.com/PRzxIjWDtX

“Stop mentioning me on Twitter. All y’all fan bases,” he said. “It is still the Conference Finals…Y’all got people at my dinner table discussing what my free agency plans are.”
Irving says that while he’s “excited” about what’s to come this offseason and evaluating his options, he wants fans to “chill.”
The 2022-23 season was full of ups and downs for Irving, who played well but dealt with several off-court controversies.
He was moved from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks in a huge deal ahead of the NBA’s trade deadline, but the move ended up falling short of expectations as Dallas collapsed down the stretch and missed the playoffs.
The Mavericks will be among Irving’s options in free agency, but it will be interesting to see which teams pursue him. If the off-court issues weren’t there, Irving would be one of the more sought after players in the league.
As things stand, some teams may not want to deal with everything that comes with having him on their roster.
